Frequently asked questions

Do I need pest control experience to take the course?

No. The Apprentice Certification starts with mindset, work ethic and the basics of knocking and pitching, then introduces how pest sales works. The Pro Certification covers bugs, services and treatment types from the ground up.

Is pest control sales a good career?

It can pay well for reps who work consistently, because most reps are paid on what they sell. It is also demanding: the work is outdoors, the days are long, and your income depends on your own activity. Pay varies by company and comp plan.

Does it cover switchovers?

Yes. Fresh doors and switchovers are treated as different games, in the Apprentice door pitch module and again in the Pro industry module.

Will this help me if my company already trains me?

Yes. Company training usually covers your products and paperwork. Pest Control University covers the selling skills underneath: the pitch, diagnosis, objections, price and the close.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. Each certification ends with a final test, and passing it earns the Pest Apprentice or Pest Pro Certification.
